Boaters, perhaps more than any others, are aware of and concerned about pollution threats facing our coastal waters. While not a major source of pollution, recreational boaters can contribute to the problem, especially in enclosed shallow bays where boats tend to congregate.
The primary goal of the Clean Vessel Act (CVA) is to reduce the overboard sewage discharge from recreational boats. The CVA provides funds for the construction, renovation, operation, and maintenance of pumpout stations. Funds are also used to develop education and information programs to encourage boaters to use these facilities.
This listing of pumpout facilities is for informational purposes only. The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and New York Sea Grant do not endorse any of the facilities or services listed.
